    A Definitive Guide To Meeting A Character At Disney World

    It is the absolute worst.

    So, you've decided to take your children to Disney World. And it's going to be magical.

    But your child can't just wander up to a nearby Cinderella in a warm embrace. No, no. The first step is to find out which of the four parks the character you want is at. For example, Pocahantas is exclusively at Animal Kindgom, and the sisters from "Frozen" are only at Epcot. This means you have to pay for all four parks.

    Then it's time to wait in line. You begin to question what fresh hell you've entered.

    It's Florida, so chances are it's at least 100 degrees. That opens up the possibility that your arm may rub against someone else and transfer sweat.

    The line is filled with an array of people from all around the globe. Most noteworthy, however, are the adults who wait in these lines. These are grown-ass people waiting hours to see a 20-year-old Orlandoan trying to get her check.

    You're almost there, but wait! The Disney associate escorts a group ahead of you. They're called "fast passers." They get to skip the horrors you've seen because they rain checked their meet-and-greet sesh. Good luck explaining this to your child.

    It's finally your family's turn. You make sure your kid doesn't have any lingering snack in their hair. The autograph books and pens came out about 20 minutes ago. You are summoned.

    But some characters your children don't have the emotional capacity to handle, like Sofia the First, which is the plush girl version of Chucky.

    But it's going to be ok, because your child could redeem this whole thing by doing something endearing, like poking Donald Duck's tail or give King Louis side eye.

    But no matter what happens, your child will be grateful for giving them the gift of Disney. It is the most magical place on earth, after all.
