Let Us Know What You Had To Learn The Hard Way About Moving Out

Co-signer vs. Guarantor? I have no idea!

Moving out and getting your own space is so exciting! You get to decorate how you want, buy the food only you want, do whatever you want — as long as you have the money...

There's so many parts to affording to live on your own and be a functioning adult that nobody mentions until you're already trying to do it! So I'd love to hear about what you didn't learn until you gave moving out a try.

What were the fees to becoming a homeowner that you were ~not~ immediately prepared for?

What were the things you didn't know you'd have to worry about as a renter until you became one?

Whether your moving process involved a lot of paperwork...

Needing to learn how to budget...

Or, having to pick up a few handiness skills...

We'd love to know! So tell us all about what you had to figure out in order to become a homeowner or renter in the comments, and you could be featured in a future BuzzFeed Community post or video!
