Whether You're Making Enough Or Too Little — We're Curious About Your Career And Salary

"What do you do for a living?" "Be sad, mostly"

Not too long ago, the BuzzFeed Community chimed in for conversations about pay transparency in The States; due to recent New York legislation being passed that requires job listings to disclose salary ranges.

It's sad yet not too surprising that it's not common practice to regularly share pay information — be it in a job listing or amongst friends. However, ~in this economy~ discussing our financial situations and how it relates to our careers and locations is so important for our greater understanding of money.

In Toronto, the wage needed for basic living expenses is reported as being $22.08/hr with the actual current minimum wage being $15.50 — whereas in Winnipeg, the necessary living wage increased in 2020 to $16.15/hr with the minimum wage being $12.35/hr. (Let's not even think about extra expenses like loans and just having fun.)

So, I really want to know — what do you make doing what you do and is it enough? If you'd like to share, please respond with your job title, a tiny description of your work, how much you're paid, and which province/city you live in.
