Charles's jester was Perkeo of Heidelberg who had by Dwarfism. He was famous for his massive wine consumption and reportedly drank between five and eight U.S. gallons of wine a day! Due to being a wine expert, Charles ironically made him look after the castle’s wine stocks. In the German city of Heidelberg, the people remember Perkeo till this day.

John's jester was João de Sá Panasco. Because of his Afican roots, João faced racism at court but still was the only one who was allowed to mock the nobility without having to fear any kind of punishment. Eventually, João elevated from court jester to gentleman courtier of the Royal Household!
