26 Signs You Know You’re From New England

Compared to the rest of the country, you're wicked cool.

1. You refer to Boston as "The City."

2. You've been camping, kayaking, and hiking at least 1,000,000 times in your life.

3. NYC people do fancy brunches at high-end restaurants, but you do breakfast at The Friendly Toast in Portsmouth.

4. You know that New England clam chowder could beat up Manhattan clam chowder in a fight.

5. You grew up on a street with no streetlights for miles.

6. If you're from New Hampshire, you take for granted that a 99-cent can of soda is ACTUALLY 99 cents.

7. If you're NOT from New Hampshire (and over 21), you still go here for the wicked good prices:

8. There was probably a "haunted house" somewhere in your town growing up.

9. If you tell most Mainers you're from Portland, they tell you that you might as well be from New Hampshire.

10. 14 degrees is considered "warm" in the winter.

11. You schedule entire seasons around sports games.

12. You remember when Hartford still had their own hockey team.

13. Tom Brady is your everything.

14. You've tried Moxie.

15. Yes, you ACTUALLY say "wicked."

16. You were scared of lake leeches growing up.

17. You know that the smaller and more shack-like the restaurant is, the better their hot dogs and lobster rolls are.

18. You somehow feel like you own Ben & Jerry's and that non-Vermonters just "don't get it."

19. You head to Providence for the vintage finds.

20. This is what your mornings look like:

21. Two words: whoopie pies. So many whoopie pies.

22. You've picked your own blueberries.

23. You own a pair of these:

24. You've been to The Big E at least once.

25. You took field trips to Old Sturbridge Village as a kid.

26. And you wouldn't want to live anywhere else!

There's nowhere like New England.
