EXCLUSIVE: Next Week's Budget To "Bore" The Pants Off Australia's Disadvantaged

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has declared that next week's Budget will involve less cutting - and more “boring”.“We’re smashing rather than slashing. Gutting rather than cutting. Boring rather than scoring if you like."With social and environmental programs already stripped to the bone, the Prime Minister will be forced to “bore deeper” into wounds opened last year by savage budget cuts.“Last year Mathias and Joe did lots of great surface work: cutting, trimming, slicing, dicing. But this year, I’ll be asking them to really bore deep into these programs.“It’s more of a blunt trauma approach - we’ll certainly be boring the pants of the unemployed and the disabled.”Mathias Cormann backed the PM’s comments.“While obviously I don’t weesh to run a running commentary I think it’s fair to say that all the cutting work is done.”But Treasurer Joe Hockey appeared dismayed at the PM’s comments, insisting that a good butcher can “always find more meat on the bone”.
