EXCLUSIVE: Abbott Preaches 'Withdrawal Method' For Parliamentary Insults

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has again raised eyebrows by preaching the advantages of the so-called 'withdrawal method' at a junior girls’ high school in Sydney today.

The staunch Catholic was responding to a question about his latest Nazi-gaffe when he declared that his approach to Parliamentary insults was much the same as his approach to contraception.

“Girls, I’ve always been an exponent of the withdrawal method.

“Look in the rough and tumble of intercourse - be it political intercourse or otherwise - sometimes you stick your nose in where it’s not wanted.

“My advice is that as long as you withdraw, you can’t be held responsible,” he said.

But Mr Abbott later withdrew the comments, saying he would leave it to the girls’ fathers to instruct them on such matters.

“Yes, perhaps I should have just abstained. Well, maybe. But sometimes, in the heat of the moment our human passions get the better of us all.”

But local MP Fiona Scott said she’d been “left to clean up Mr Abbott’s mess” after his visit.
