Which John Mayer Song Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Choose your respective zodiac sign.

You're Aries, adventurous and impulsive, and perhaps even a bit selfish at times. And so is this song. The opening masterpiece off of Battle Studies, "Heartbreak Warfare" may as well be considered the titular track. It succeeds in exposing your internal storm, however muddied it may be.

Taurus, Taurus, Taurus. Warm-hearted and good-natured, but sometimes self-indulgent and often in need of security. This classic track from Continuum sounds a hell of a lot like you. In it, John muses about the passage of time, and its relentless forward motion. Eventually, he comes to terms with the mortality of our minutes. Take his dad's advice and "don't for a minute change the place you're in".

"Stop This Train"

Well Gemini, you're oft described as communicative and witty, which is without doubt a positive set of traits. And yet, you can sometimes come off as nervous or tense, which may not always be intentional or desirable. This mellow track off of Room for Squares spells out those moments perfectly. Don't you fret, because even John Mayer's been there.

"My Stupid Mouth"

Oh, Cancer. You're emotional and intuitive. And yet at times, you may be overprotective of your feelings, and unable to let go of the past. Hmm, sounds eerily similar to "In Your Atmosphere". This song recounts a shift in the singer's lifestyle after somebody important was no longer apart of it. Only years after writing the tune did John Mayer find he'd fallen back in touch with it. In this way, its somber sound is combatted by an obstinate hopefulness. I don't know, maybe you just shouldn't go to LA anymore.

"In Your Atmosphere"

Leo. You're generous and broad-minded, but pompous and attention-seeking. And for that, you've earned the loudest, most deliberate, and well, the boldest song from Continuum. "Bold as Love" means everything it so warmly shares, through its thoughtfully crafted words and guitar riffs. In it, we hear John strut his stuff, in his style.

Modest and shy, a perfectionist and conservative, any Virgo pairs perfectly with "Paper Doll". The quietest tune off of Paradise Valley (and the only good 1 lmao sry), this song can be described as reminiscent and evocative, even in its smallness. At the time of its release, "Paper Doll" couldn't stand alone. It was plagued with controversy, and as John put it, "The song never got listened to as a song. It became a news story because of the lyrics." My suggestion? Go and listen to it for what it truly is.

Libra, you're often described as romantic, charming, and easygoing, but you can also be gullible and flirtatious. The same applies to "Still Feel Like Your Man". In the opening track of his most recent release, The Search for Everything, John hearkens back to the sounds of R&B's best. It's bubbly, it's danceable, and it's timeless. But you can trick yourself into believing whatever you want.

This tune is savory, much like you, Scorpio. A little resentful and a lot powerful, John's commentary on his relationship with the world resonates with you. His pleas are heavy and familiar, and you and the guitar licks both know it.

"Vultures"

Yes, Sagittarius. You're joyful and good-humored and optimistic, almost to the point of carelessness. That's why "Helpless" suits you so perfectly. This track off his most recent release reminds us of why we love John so much. Maybe it's that familiar childlike jive we're so enamored with. Or maybe it's his willingness to admit to that very same carelessness that we're all guilty of.

Capricorn, you're practical, ambitious and driven. And yet, at times, you can become pessimistic and worrisome. "Clarity" is the song for you, because, believe it or not, you're not the only one feeling this way. Confusion comes with the territory of determination, and no one says it better than John Mayer himself. In the opening track of Heavier Things, our virtuoso ponders the meaning of uncertainty in his life. And as it turns out, that feeling might not last forever.

Aquarius, you're friendly and honest by nature, but can be a little detached from your loved ones. And who said there's anything wrong with that? Certainly not John Mayer. In this song from Battle Studies, our hero spells out his personal mantra: "Nothing to do, nowhere to be." So enjoy those lazy moments alone, and don't be afraid to share them with others. It was times like those that brought us songs like this.

"Perfectly Lonely"

Hello, Pisces. Imaginative and sensitive, escapist and idealistic, you're "Edge of Desire". Much like this song, you carry an innate calm with you everywhere you go. Perhaps the most romantic tune off of Battle Studies (and of all time), a deliberate and steady downbeat moves John's words forward. Sounds a lot like your heartbeat, right?
