National Tap Dance Day is celebrated on May 25th every year and is a celebration of tap dancing as an American art form. The holiday was signed into American law by President George H.W. Bush on November 8, 1989. Why May 25th? Well, May 25th is tap legend Bill "Bojangles" Robinson's Birthday and tap dancers love to honor those who paved the both dance and history.

#NationalTapDanceDay can be celebrated in small random groups, while some others celebrate individually due to geographical dispersion or lack of access to the wider tap community. This year #Taplife Company and National Dance Week Foundation want to bring more of these groups and individuals closer together. They are currently planning a newly organized event that can be attened live in Rockaway Beach, NY or Globally via Facebook Live...You can even learn the Choreography for free with easy to follow "how to..." videos and dance along in your PJs at home... Starting May 25, 2017, everyone will have a new way to celebrate this positive, happy, feel-good holiday together as a #tapfam...
