You gonna do that homework, or nah?
These spaces are created for residents to work in, so take advantage of them if you're living in the dorms!
Arnhold Hall is located at 55 West 13th Street. This 2nd floor mezzanine area just outside the Theresa Lang Community Center is a great place to do some quick work in between classes, but maybe not the best for an entire day of work. PS: There’s coffee and snacks at the Library Café in the lobby!
This not-so-well known niche of The New School is great for getting into the zone. This site includes minimal distractions and comfy chairs, located at 6 East 16th Street.
Yup, you read that right. New Schoolers have full access to Bobst Library at 70 Washington Square South. It's a great resource for not only study space, but also for finding reading and research material—there are 10 massive floors of books!
Our University Center at 63 5th Avenue has an abundance of study space. In this nook, comfortable brown chairs overlook busy NYC traffic, and the other side has open tables and chairs for projects that require more space.
The Lang Café can be found on the lobby level of 65 West 11th Street. It may not be the quietest place to work, but it's great for meetings and group projects! Get some sushi, while you're at it.
Doing some reading? Enjoy the outdoors within the comfort of The New School between the 65 West 11th & 66 West 12th Street buildings.
Try not to get distracted by the beautiful green roof and massive skyscrapers out the window just beside you. And remember, no food, drinks, or art supplies allowed! The library is on the 6th and 7th floors of 63 5th Avenue.
