    “Don’t normalize this.”

Over the weekend, two mass shootings took place in the United States: one in El Paso, Texas, which left at least 22 people dead, and another in Dayton, Ohio, where nine people died. Here are reactions from celebrities who spoke out in the wake of the tragic events:

    1. Lili Reinhart

I am sick to my stomach over what has happened in El Paso today. I can’t believe this is happening in my country and no one is doing anything about it. Who has to die for laws to change?

    2. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

My heart, love & strength go out to El Paso. Victims and their families. Grateful to our first responders. Stay strong as we’re forced to heal yet again. What leader will step up to command wiser/effective talks? Not sure what the answers are but it all starts with open dialogue.

    3. Nick Jonas

Heartbroken hearing the news from El Paso. Sending my thoughts and prayers to all the victims and families. So sad. So senseless. We need change.

    4. Josh Gad

My heart breaks for the city of El Paso. The madness never ends. It is all too much. There‘a nowhere safe from the terror of gun violence in the United States of America. We are a broken nation trapped in the darkness of our unwillingness to ask ourselves why this keeps happening

    5. Lizzo

Just got off the phone w/ fam in Dayton... it was a close call for them but that’s not the case for 9 other families between this & the terrorist attack in El Paso & recent other shootings I feel completely helpless.. make noise & bring awareness.. vote.. don’t normalize this

My heart goes out to the people of El Paso. Let us never become numb to this. This is not normal. It should never be normal.

THIRD MASS SHOOTING THIS WEEK. BETWEEN 15-20 SHOT IN TODAY’S SHOOTING AND MCCONNELL WON’T BRING #HR8 UP FOR A VOTE. Tell me again how the @GOP is “pro-life” when they won’t vote for a bill-that already passed the house-which would make the country safer from gun violence. #NoRA

    20. Lauren Graham

I have a question. While it’s not for me, I get why people might want to legally own a rifle for hunting or a hand gun for home protection. But why do we allow civilians to purchase assault weapons? What do we expect they’ll be used for besides the heartbreaking obvious?

    21. Jason Alexander

What will it take? Honestly, what will it take? #ElPaso #Dayton

There are no words. My heart breaks for the friends and families of the El Paso victims. Praying for all of you. We must do more to stop these senseless acts of gun violence.
