6 Awesome Versions Of Scout's Ham Costume In "To Kill A Mockingbird"

Chicken wire + brown cloth + paint = one porktastic outfit. Happy Ham-o-ween!

For the Halloween pageant in Harper Lee's book "To Kill a Mockingbird," Scout Finch has to be a ham. It is maybe the best literary costume ever.

"Mrs. Crenshaw took some chicken wire and bent it into the shape of a cured ham."

This costume designer figured out a more flattering version of the suit.

Designer Paula Prior made a lighter version out of foam, bendable tube, and cotton.

    Nailed it.

    This guy found some accessories.

"Pretty sweet, right? Around the holidays I string christmas lights around it to make it our Christmas Ham."

No better place to ham it up than in a ham costume.

Obviously, there is a dog version too.

So make yourself Scout's ham costume. Next year, you can always paint it and make another book-inspired costume. / Via
