Finally! The day you have been waiting for has arrived. From August 21-24, more than 6,000 students will be moving into their home away from home. Welcome Week

Welcome Week is exactly as it sounds – it’s a week of welcoming you to Temple’s campus, whether you are a returning or new student. The week includes exciting events and activities such as the Cherry on Pep Rally and a Temple men’s soccer game. TempleFest

Are you ready to show off your school pride? Get your cherry and white on and head down Liacouras Walk! This is your chance to get involved and connected on campus. There are over 200 student organizations, departments and Philadelphia vendors. Keep an eye for more details during move-in week.

Convocation

Convocation is a time for freshman and transfer students to take part in a formal welcoming ceremony. The event takes place Friday, Aug. 23 at 3:30pm in the Liacouras Center. Exploring Your Campus

Making New Friends

It can be intimidating trying to make friends in a new place. Participate in the activities your dorm hall is hosting – you may just meet your best friend there. Try keeping your door open to let people know you’re interested in talking/meeting new people. Most importantly, just say hi to someone in your classes. Making friends in the beginning of the semester is helpful for when you have projects, studying, and just need someone to hang with!

Finding Your Classes

The campus can be pretty intimidating at first, especially when you’re trying to navigate through the buildings to find your class. In order to avoid getting to class late on your first day, you should take a walk around campus to locate your classrooms. You’ll feel much better knowing where to go on your first day.

Syllabus Week (AKA Sylly Week)

You must have heard about syllabus week! It’s the first week of classes, where the only thing professors give you is the syllabus to go over. You typically leave class early and receive no homework. Don’t let this go to your head, it is important to read through your syllabi to know if you actually like the classes you’re getting into. Remember, add/drop period will come and go faster than you can say sylly week.
