Sadly, Ariana Grande And Halsey Didn't Win The "Midsommar" May Queen Dress From The A24 Auction

Unfortunately Halsey and Ariana won't be May Queens.

Last month, A24 held a charity auction of props from some of its movies, including the incredible May Queen dress Florence Pugh donned on Midsommar.

Many wanted the dress – including myself, obviously.

Ariana Grande posted on her Instagram Story that she wanted to bid for it.

Florence Pugh told her it has "hand holes for wine," so Ariana definitely was ready to become the May Queen.

Halsey also wanted the dress, joking on Twitter that she was trying to stop herself from bidding on it.

me, to myself: dont bid for the midsommar may queen outfit dont bid for the midsommar may queen outfit don’t bid for the midsommar may queen outfit don’t bid for the midsommar may queen outfit don’t bid for the midsommar ma

Well, sadly neither Ariana nor Halsey will be crowned as the May Queen.

The winning bid went to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, who spent $65,000 on it.

We’re excited to share our newest acquisition, the May Queen gown made of 10,000 silk flowers from the film MIDSOMMAR (2019), written and directed by @AriAster and starring @Florence_Pugh. 100% of #A24Auctions proceeds go to @FDNYFoundation @A24

The proceeds from the dress went to the FDNY Foundation.

The bad news is that we won't get to see the celebs rocking it in quarantine, but the good news is that now anyone can see it in person – once the pandemic is over, of course.
