Rapper Azealia Banks was arrested Tuesday after allegedly punching a female bouncer and biting her breast during an altercation at a New York nightclub, police told BuzzFeed News.
Banks was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment, according to a criminal complaint.
A judge released Banks from jail on her own recognizance, a spokesperson for the New York District Attorney's Office confirmed to BuzzFeed News.
Banks, 24, allegedly got into a "verbal dispute" with bouncers at the Up&Down nightclub in Manhattan's Meatpacking district, according to the New York Police Department.
As first reported by Page 6, Banks began to argue to with the club's bouncers when they refused to let her enter a private party without getting a stamp. Banks was "screaming at the top of her lungs, cursing" and used racial slurs against the male and female security guard who did not recognize the singer, witnesses told Page 6.
Despite being let into the party by one of the club's owners, Banks reportedly continued to curse at the bouncers, telling them she was on Rihanna's next album.
As she was being escorted out of the club, Bank allegedly punched and bit the 28-year-old female bouncer on her breast, police said. The bite caused "redness, swelling and bruising to her breast and substantial pain," the criminal complaint stated.
The unidentified bouncer refused medical attention at the scene.
The controversial rapper was also investigated by Los Angeles police after allegedly assaulting a security guard at a nightclub in November.
In September, she was also caught on video calling a Delta flight attendant "a fucking faggot" after she clashed with another passenger.
