Dominique Heaggan-Brown was charged with first degree reckless homicide for the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Smith that sparked heated unrest in Milwaukee.
The officer who fatally shot 23-year-old Sylville Smith in August has been arrested and suspended from the Milwaukee Police Department.
Wisconsin's attorney general also said Monday that he will not release video of the shooting of 23-year-old Sylville Smith until the investigation is closed.
"When it's personal like this," said Maria Hamilton, whose son was killed in an officer-involved shooting in 2014, "we don’t need no cameras."
A 10 p.m. curfew will be imposed Monday night after two nights of violent unrest following the shooting of a 23-year-old Sylville Smith.
Sylville Smith, 23, was killed by a police officer on Saturday afternoon, prompting a night of violent and destructive protest in the city.
