The decade of tons of terriers, plus, Navy dogs, and NYC chihuahuas wearing sweaters! We can do it, doggies!
In doing research for this post, I have come to the important conclusion that dogs reached the height of their cuteness in the 1930s. Really, like a fourth of these dogs are wearing little hats.
Dogs in the '20s really took advantage of the cultural renaissance, hedonism, and fashion of the decade. In other words, they got dressed up a lot, and thank goodness for that.
The past got some things right: electricity, diplomacy, sandwiches. But some things they really missed the mark on.
People still did the same poses during the Victorian Era, except you know, without having to use the sepia effects in iPhoto. Also, today I learned that some Victorians did have emotions.
