This Is Everything You Need To Know About Eurovision 2016

1. Laura Tesoro (Belgium)

Laura came second on the Belgian version of The Voice, and is known for being an actor on the Flemish soap Familie. She is 19 years old, and half Italian, half Belgian.

2. Gabriela Gunčíková (Czech Republic)

Gabriela came second in the Czech-Slovak version of Pop Idol in 2011 and has also appeared on the Slovak version of Dancing With the Stars. She was a member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra but is now focusing her efforts on her solo career.

3. Douwe Bob (The Netherlands)

In 2012, Douwe appeared on De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland, and he has since enjoyed success as a solo singer.

4. Samra (Azerbaijan)

Samra made it to the quarter-finals of the Turkish version of The Voice in 2014, and the finals of the Azerbaijani version of The Voice last year. In 2012, she also took part in Azerbaijan's national selections for Eurovision. Her Eurovision song is about a particularly nasty breakup she went through.

5. Freddie (Hungary)

Freddie came fourth in Hungary's talent show Rising Star in 2014. He used to be a basketball player, but started to focus on singing when he gained a serious sporting injury. He's really fit.

6. Francesca Michielin (Italy)

Francesca won the Italian version of The X Factor in 2012. She released a double platinum single and sang on the soundtrack to The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

7. Hovi Star (Israel)

Hovi has appeared on the Israeli version of Pop Idol and he has also worked as a voice actor. He has dubbed Frozen, Lego, Cinderella, and Inside Out in Israeli. He is also a trained hair and makeup artist.

8. Poli Genova (Bulgaria)

Poli got through to Bulgaria's national selections in 2009 and represented Bulgaria in 2011, but didn't qualify for the finals. She also hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest last year. She came first in the Bulgarian talent show Musical Academy, has been a judge on the Bulgarian version of The X Factor, and competed in Dancing With the Stars. Basically, she's a big deal.

9. Frans (Sweden)

Frans is only 17, awhh. He is half Swedish and half Nigerian, but was raised in London. In 2006, when he was 7 years old, he released a tribute song called "Who's Da Man" about footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic during the World Cup.

11. Amir (France)

In 2006, Amir took part in the Israeli version of Pop Idol and in 2011 he was in the French version of The Voice. He grew up between France and Israel. Fun fact: He can only hear from his left ear.

12. Michał Szpak (Poland)

Michał came first on Polish X Factor in 2011, where he sang a duet of "Hallelujah" with Alexandra Burke in the final. He also took part in Dancing With the Stars, and was a judge on the Polish version of Top Model.

13. Dami Im (Australia)

Dami is a classically trained pianist who moved from South Korea to Australia when she was 9 years old. She won the Australian version of The X Factor in 2013 and has been a massive star in Australia ever since.

14. Minus One (Cyprus)

Minus One are a Greek Cypriot rock band who formed six years ago. They reached Cyprus's national selections for Eurovision last year. They used to be a cover band but nowadays they write their own material.

15. Sanja Vučić ZAA (Serbia)

Sanja studies Arabic at university alongside being in the band ZAA. They're super popular in Serbia.

16. Donny Montell (Lithuania)

Donny represented Lithuania in Eurovision in 2012. He's played a lot of festivals in Lithuania, and he also took part in Dance With Me. His dad was a rock star, and he's Donny's biggest inspiration. I fancy Donny.

17. Nina Kraljić (Croatia)

Nina won the Croatian version of The Voice last year, but she also took part in the Croation version of Got Talent in 2009. She studied opera at university.

18. Sergey Lazarev (Russia)

Sergey is known in Russia for being half of the pop duo Smash!! (in Russian: СМЭШ!!), who rose to fame in 2002. Since the band broke up in 2004, he has worked as a solo singer and he competed in Russia's national selections for Eurovision in 2008. But before that, he was a member of Neposedy, the band in which Julia and Lena from t.A.T.u met. He's been on Russian Dancing on Ice and Circus of the Stars and he's a strong favourite to win.

19. Barei (Spain)

Barei has been a singer for 15 years and lives between Spain and Miami. She has performed at loads of festivals, and is super famous in Spain.

20. Justs (Latvia)

Justs's song was written by Aminata, Latvia's representative last year. He started his musical career as a street musician in Riga.

21. Jamala (Ukraine)

In 2009, Jamala won the International Contest of Young Pop Singers in Latvia. In 2011, she took part in Ukraine's national selections but didn't get through to the live shows.

22. Ira Losco (Malta)

Ira has actually taken part in Eurovision before: She came 12 points behind the winner in 2002. She is well-known for supporting anti-bullying and LGBT-rights charities in Malta. She's also pregnant!

23. Nika Kocharov and Young Georgian Lolitaz (Georgia)

Nika, Giorgi, Levan, and Dimitri are the first all-male band to represent Georgia in Eurovision. They have been performing together since 2000.

24. Zoë (Austria)

Zoë has been famous in Austria forever. At the age of 11, she took part in the Austrian talent show Kiddy Contest, and has since gone on to be a television personality and actress. She reached the Austrian national selections for Eurovision last year.

25. Joe and Jake (The United Kingdom)

Joe and Jake participated in the British version of The Voice last year as separate contestants and decided to form a musical duo after meeting on the competition. Joe is from Ruthin in Wales and Jake is from Stoke-on-Trent in England.

26. Iveta Mukuchyan (Armenia)

Iveta has taken part in Armenia's Hay Superstar and Germany's version of The Voice, where she performed classic Eurovision banger "Euphoria". She moved between Armenia and Germany as a kid and now works as a singer, actor, and model.
