1. London Fields Lido, Hackney
London Fields Lido is super popular with locals, and for good reason! It's an Olympic-sized, heated outdoor swimming pool that's open all year round. Plus, it's recently been refurbished so the changing facilities are all lovely and new.

2. Saltdean Lido, Brighton
Saltdean Lido is a gorgeous modernist swimming pool that has just been reopened after local residents campaigned to save it. The pool is huge and the architecture is beautiful.

3. Jubilee Pool, Penzance
Cornwall's Jubilee Pool is a stunning art deco lido that's filled with fresh saltwater. The views are to-die-for, and there's a café on site (which serves cocktails and pizza!) so you can while away a whole day there.

4. Bristol Lido, Clifton
Swimming at Bristol Lido is hands down one of the most glamourous ways to spend a sunny day. Visitors can buy packages for a swim session and meal (they do breakfast, lunch, afternoon tapas, and dinner) and the food is glorious. There's a sauna, steamroom, and hot tub on site and the spa products in the showers and changing rooms are gorgeous.

5. Stonehaven Open Air Pool, Aberdeen
Stonehaven Open Air Swimming Pool is a gorgeous, child-friendly lido that's well worth a visit if you're in Aberdeen. It first opened in the '30s and it's more popular now than ever.

6. Pells Pool, Lewes
Pells Pool is the oldest documented freshwater outdoor lido in the UK and they sell ice creams there! It's really cute and it's a lovely place to escape the heat in the summer.

7. Shap Swimming Pool, Cumbria
At over 900 feet above sea level, Shap Swimming Pool is England's highest lido! It's just 16 meters long, so it's a small pool but it's really cute and definitly worth a visit if you're in the area.

Tinside Lido is a gorgeous art deco, Grade II listed, saltwater lido that overlooks the Plymouth harbour. It has its own café and sunbathing terrace so you can really make a day of it!

9. Sandford Parks Lido, Cheltenham
Sandford Parks Lido was opened in 1935 and is super popular with Cheltenham's locals. Next to its main swimming pool, there's a smaller children's pool too so it's the perfect place to spend a day out with your family.

10. Serpentine Lido, Hyde Park
In the winter Serpentine Lido is only open to its swim club members, but in the summer months it opens to the general public too. Swimming in the Serpentine is the most magical feeling and well worth doing if you're in London during the summer.

11. Jesus Green Outdoor Pool, Cambridge
At 91 meters, Jesus Green Outdoor Pool is one of the longest lidos in the UK. It's surrounded by trees so it isn't overlooked and there's plenty of space to sunbathe near the pool.

12. Arundel Lido, West Sussex
Arundel Lido is a lovely outdoor pool right in the middle of the South Downs National Park. There's a café on site as well as an adventure play park for kids.

13. Bath Thermae Spa, Bath
This open air, roof top pool is open all year round and offers the most wonderful views of Bath. You can combine a visit with a meal in the lovely Spring Restaurant and they offer spa treatments too. The baths are fed by naturally warm, mineral-rich waters, making it a super relaxing place to spend the day.

14. Bude Sea Pool, Cornwall
If you're in Cornwall, you should add Bude Sea Pool to your list of places to visit. It's totally natural and was built under the curve of the cliffs in the 1930s. It's swimming in the Atlantic Ocean without actually... being in the ocean.
