"Mozart In The Jungle" Should Be The Next Show You Binge-Watch

Posted on

I don't know if you know this or not, but Mozart in the Jungle is currently one of the best shows around.

It's inspired by Blair Tindell's memoir Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music and it's full of drama, humor, love, lust, and, of course, classical music.

First of all, the cast is amazing. It includes Gael GarcĂa Bernal and Lola Kirke...

Gael plays Rodrigo De Souza, the orchestra's eccentric but affable new conductor. Lola's Hailey Rutledge is an oboist aspiring to play with the greats while also juggling side jobs, a social life, oboe lessons, and the usual responsibilities of a twentysomething in NYC.

Malcolm McDowell plays Thomas Pembridge and Saffron Burrows plays Cynthia Taylor.

Thomas is the former conductor who just can't let the orchestra go and Saffron Burrows is a cellist with a somewhat complicated love life.

Oh, and there's this little known actress you probably haven't heard of -- BERNADETTE MOTHERFUCKIN' PETERS!

Bernadette's Gloria Windsor is the president of the New York Symphony and the glue struggling to hold everything together.

You'll also quickly become obsessed with Lizzie and Bradford.

Lizze is the best friend that we all need. She's totally ride or die for Hailey and Hannah Dunne portrays her flawlessly. Jason Schwartzman as Bradford will probably make you want to start you own classical music podcast even if you don't know anything about classical music.

And there's so much drama.

Mozart in the Jungle will truly change you.
