Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer Interview Discuss future after Olympics 2012 and Reality Show

Published on Aug 9, 2012 by Superhood357 Ryan Lochte, gold-medal swimmer and heartthrob extraordinaire may be a whiz in the pool (That came out wrong...), but what about on the dance floor? Don't rule it out. When asked what reality show he'd prefer to be on: The Bachelor or DWTS? Ryan said he'd definitely go with Dancing with the Stars. Sorry ladies, so sorry. "It's a competition and I have that competitive edge in me," said Ryan. Maybe he can do The Bachelor after DWTS. According to his mom, Ryan's into 'one-night stands'... *face palm*. Um, she means 'casual dating,' so maybe The Bachelor is too far of a stretch for this swoonworthy swimmer. We'll be happy with DWTS though. Lochte's swimming rival and teammate Michael Phelps says he's open to bustin' a move on the reality show. A head-to-head dance competition between Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps? Mmmhmmm.

Jamaica's Usain Bolt, third from left, crosses the finish line to win gold ahead of United State's Ryan Bailey, left, Jamaica's Yohan Blake, third from right, United States' Tyson Gay, second from right, and Trinidad's Richard Thompson in the men's 100-meter final during the athletics in the Olympic Stadium at the 2012 Summer Olympics, London, Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. (AP Photo/Matt Dunham) LONDON — Lining up for the Olympic 100-meter final, Usain Bolt wrapped up his signature prerace preening by lifting a finger to his lips. Shhhhhhh. Time to silence the critics. He might not be better than ever. Clearly, he's back to being the best. Pulling away from the pack with every long stride, Bolt surged after his typical lumbering break from the blocks and overwhelmed a star-studded field to win in 9.63 seconds Sunday night, the second-fastest 100 in history and an Olympic record that let him join Carl Lewis as the only men with consecutive gold medals in the Summer Games' marquee track event.

Woman, 65, Shoots at Would-be Jewelry Store Robbers in Garden Grove

Police are still looking for five would-be robbers who were chased away from a Garden Grove jewelry store by a 65-year-old woman who fired at the suspects. The attempted heist occurred Sunday at Continental Jewelry in the 12000 block of Brookhurst Street. Surveillance footage from the store shows a white SUV backing up to the front of the building and five men getting out, pillowcases in hand. The men rush to the front of the counter and point handguns at the clerks and a customer. Seconds later the shots are fired and the men race back to the door, fighting to get out as the woman runs after them. The SUV left before three of the suspects made it back inside the vehicle. Police said they were picked up about a block away. Nothing was taken from the store and no one was hurt. The incident marks the second time in a week that an Orange County store owner has used a gun to thwart a robbery. On Monday, two men attempted to rob a watch shop at Westminster's Asian Garden Mall, only to be stopped by a store owner who shot one of the suspects in the head. Both men were later apprehended by police. Authorities said they don't know if the incidents are related, but cautioned store owners in using guns to protect themselves. "Just like a police officer, when you fire that weapon and those rounds go down range, you have to be accountable for where those rounds end up," said Garden Grove police Lt. Jeff Nightengale

Mass Shooting In Sikh Temple, 7 Dead, Officer Shot

Seven people are dead after a mass shooting at a Sikh temple in the Milwaukee suburb of Oak Creek, Wis., this morning, according to police. Two others, a civilian and a police officer, were injured and were being treated at a local hospital. At least one suspected shooter is among the dead, Greenfield, Wis., Police Chief Brad Wentlandt said today. Police are still trying to determine if there was another shooter involved in the attack, during which at least one gunman walked into the temple around 10:25 a.m. and opened fire. Wentlandt said the calls reporting different shooters may be separate reports of the same gunman. "They went to church, not knowing that they might die today," said Simran Kaleka, whose family was in the temple, according to ABC News Radio. "I don't know how sick you have to be to do that, and I don't know if it was directed toward the Sikh culture and them having turbans and having beards, but ignorance is not going to get us anywhere." The first police officer to arrive on scene after a flurry of 911 calls exchanged gunfire with the shooter, receiving multiple gunshot wounds in the process. He was rushed into surgery at Froedtert Hospital, the main trauma center in the Milwaukee region, Wentlandt said. "An officer arrived and engaged a suspect. That officer was shot multiple times. He is expected to survive," Wentlandt told the news media. The gunman, he said, "is down on the scene and is presumed deceased." A single semi-automatic handgun was found at the scene. Four other people were found dead inside the temple, while three people, including the shooter, were found dead outside the building. Police were still performing tactical searches of the building to ensure that they had evacuated all of the injured people and cleared the building of any additional shooters.

Man Makes Frantic 911 Call While Clinging to Moving Truck(Disturbing Video)

Newly released 911 tape shows the frantic moments when a New York man called begging authorities for help as he clung to a moving pickup truck. Robert Kowalik, 45, of Troy, N.Y., called 911 around 5:30 p.m. Sunday to report he had been hit by a truck and was being dragged through city streets. ""I got hit by a truck. I'm hanging on the back of a white truck. Hurry, hurry," Kowalik is heard saying on the 911 call, tape of which was released by police on Tuesday. Kowalik told authorities that he had been hit by a truck being driven by his acquaintance Seth Scudds, also 45, with whom he had been arguing outside of a store in Troy, according to local ABC affiliate WTEN. "He just hit me, I'm hanging on his truck, hurry, hurry, oh please hurry, I can't hang on too much," he says on the call. "He ran over my leg. He ran over my leg. I can't hold on much longer. He's killing me." Video shows Kowalik clinging to the side of the pickup truck near the back on the passenger side. Midway through the call, Kowalik, who suffered cuts and bruises but no life-threatening injuries in the incident, can be heard pleading for an unknown medication. "I want my pills back...my narcotics," Kowalik says to someone in the vehicle during the call. Kowalik held onto the truck while staying on the phone with authorities and telling them what streets he was passing, until Scudds came to a stop in a Walmart parking lot in nearby Brunswick, N.Y. Surveillance cameras in the store's parking lot captured Kowalik then grabbing a bag from the truck before Scudds sped away. Authorities clarified on Tuesday that it was Kowalik who partly prompted the incident because he was hanging onto the truck and was not, as he claimed, hit by the truck. Scudds was later arrested and charged with assault, reckless endangerment and reckless driving. He is free on $7,500 bail and is scheduled to return to court on Friday.
