      From a very early age I knew I wanted to wait, but marriage wasn’t the end goal. Being the oldest and only girl in a semi-strict household I knew I was going to have an uphill battle when it came to relationships, but I knew that once I found the right guy, it would all work out.  On a whim I thought about losing it in the last month of my senior year in high school to a friend of mine so I can get it over with, but I didn’t follow through with it. I knew it wasn’t the right time and I would regret it later. I finally lost mine at 19 to my then boyfriend, who I’ve known since I was 15, and I have no regrets. It was more important to establish a solid relationship with years of complete trust and respect for one another before sex happened. I can’t even imagine myself having a one night stand or sleeping with someone who I’ve known for less than 1 year because, to me, during sex you are the most vulnerable. The guy I lost it to was my best friend and now at the age of 22, I’m still best friends with him today.
