I Decided Which Disney Princesses Would Vote In 2020 — And It's 100% Accurate, Sorry
When it comes to democracy, we can't LET IT GO.
Let me ask you a question of utmost importance: If the Disney princesses existed in America in 2020, which of them would VOTE?
I'd like to think that all of the princesses would be voters, because DEMOCRACY MATTERS! But unfortunately, I know that some of our beloved heroines are probably NOT doing their civic duty.
So I decided to compile a master list of which Disney princesses would — and would not — be registered to vote if they lived in modern-day America. Now, these are just MY opinions, but I'm pretty comfortable stating that I am 100% correct about all of these. And if you disagree, let me know in the comments. K, let's do this!
1. Mulan: She's DEFINITELY registered to vote.
You really think a warrior who risked EVERYTHING to save her country would skip an election? Please! There's literally zero doubt in my mind that Mulan is a voter.
2. Snow White: Not registered to vote :(.
Let's be honest: Snow White is not exactly the most proactive princess in the Disney canon. She pretty much just crashes on her seven friends' couch all day while they go to work, and sings about waiting for a prince to come find her. I doubt she votes. Sad!
3. Belle: Absolutely, positively registered to vote.
Research has shown that smarter people tend to be more likely to vote, so it's safe to say that Disney's resident bookworm is a diligent voter — even in the LOCAL elections.
4. Cinderella: Probably not registered to vote ;/.
Her rags-to-riches story is inspiring, but sadly, I think she's benefited way too much from the monarchy to ever truly support a democracy.
5. Ariel: Unfortunately, NOT registered to vote.
She literally sold her voice to get a man, so something tells me she doesn't care about having a voice in our democracy. Boo, Ariel! I hope someday you'll choose to be ~part of our world~.
6. Tiana: Registered to vote!!!
This one's easy. Definitely a voter. And she's registered in the fine state of Louisiana, duh!
7. Jasmine: Probably registered to vote???
I'm slightly wary of a 1 percenter who lives in a gigantic palace with her pet tiger — she's not exactly familiar with the struggles of the working class. Still, she certainly cares about the world around her. I'm guessing she votes.
8. Pocahontas: 100% registered to vote.
I bet Grandmother Willow taught her about all the various BRANCHES of government. Get it, branches? I'll see myself out.
9. Merida: Not registered to vote...YET.
She knows that women fought way too hard for the right to vote — there's no way she's not gonna exercise that right the second she turns 18!
10. Rapunzel: Registered to vote but has to vote by mail because she's locked in a tower.
She's always sure to request her absentee ballot — and you probably should too this year.
11. Aurora: Nope, not registered to vote 👎.
She was asleep for so long, I sincerely doubt that she's woke enough to vote.
12. Anna and Elsa: Even though they're not *technically* Disney princesses, I must point out that they are DEFINITELY both registered to vote!!!!
