This Picture Of Lady Gaga And Madonna After The Oscars Proves The Drama Is Over Between Them

Peace is possible.

Y'all. Lady Gaga attended Madonna's Oscars after-party last night, and the two took a picture together that is honestly ART.

Now, in case you weren't aware, Lady Gaga and Madonna have not historically had the greatest relationship. It's been a long road to this snuggling-on-the-floor moment.

Once upon a time, Gaga released "Born This Way," which drew lots of comparisons to Madonna's "Express Yourself." Madonna herself called the track "reductive," and noted that she "recognized the chord changes."

Gaga, for her part, did not take kindly to the comparisons in an interview, saying that any plagiarism claims were "moronic":

I will look you in your eyes and tell you that I am not dumb enough or moronic enough to think that you are dumb enough or moronic enough not to see that I would have stolen a melody. If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression. It’s the same one that’s been in disco music for the last 50 years. Just because I’m the first fucking artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn’t mean I’m a plagiarist, it means that I’m fucking smart. Sorry.

A few years later in 2015, Madonna doubled down, telling Rolling Stone, "I felt like [Gaga] blatantly ripped off one of my songs."

Gaga addressed the tensions with Madonna in her 2017 documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two. Here's what she said:

I still admire her, no matter what she might think of me. I just want Madonna to fucking push me up against the wall and kiss me and tell me I’m a piece of shit.

And just a few months ago, while Gaga's oft-repeated "100 people in a room" line was going viral, Madonna uploaded an old interview to Instagram in which Madge herself tells a reporter: "There's 100 people in the room and 99 people say they liked it, I only remember the one person who didn't like it." She then posted this photo with the caption, "Dont F*^k with me Monday."

But all of that is in the past now! THEY ARE FRIENDS, ICONS, AND FLOOR CUDDLERS!

The photographer behind the image, JR, also uploaded some video footage of the two legends posing together. We've got this sultry, serious staredown...

And a lovely lil' ~cheek-to-cheek~ moment, too.

I'm sharing this image one more time for good luck. Peace is possible!
