Gal Gadot Just Responded To James Cameron's "Wonder Woman" Comments In The Classiest Way

"I just didn’t want to give him the stage."

This is Gal Gadot, star of Wonder Woman and the only good part of 2017.

Gal just gave an in-depth interview to Entertainment Weekly, where she was asked about James Cameron's controversial Wonder Woman comments from last year — and her response is the perfect blend of sassy 'n classy.

ICYMI, here's what James Cameron had to say about Wonder Woman back in August, in an interview with The Guardian:

All of the self-congratulatory back-patting Hollywood’s been doing over Wonder Woman has been so misguided. She’s an objectified icon, and it’s just male Hollywood doing the same old thing! I’m not saying I didn’t like the movie but, to me, it’s a step backwards.

He also claimed that one of his own franchises, The Terminator, had a better feminist icon in the character of Sarah Connor.

His comments were met with a lot of anger, and the film's director, Patty Jenkins, issued a response to Cameron on Twitter. But Gal Gadot herself didn't respond at the time, and now she's finally explaining why.

"Because I didn’t want to give him the stage," she revealed to EW.

Gal noted that she's "a big fan of his work," but says she felt like his comments were made to garner attention and publicity for himself.

"When it happened, the timing of when it happened, he was promoting another movie of his. It was like he was looking for publicity," she explained.

"And I just didn’t want to give him the stage."
