A video taken by researchers in Florida shows thousands of sharks swimming right off of the beach as they migrate for the winter.
The video was taken by Dr. Stephen Kajiura of Florida Atlantic University.
Kajiura is studying the migration of the blacktip shark, a very common shark in the state.
He told BuzzFeed News that part of his research includes aerial surveys, which helps him track their movements.
When he conducted his research on Friday, he saw thousands of sharks.
Yep, all those dots are sharks. 😱
"You could literally just stand on the shore and throw a rock and hit a shark," Kajiura said.
Beachgoers shouldn't be freaked out by seeing the images though, Kajiura said. In fact, he believes they should feel the opposite.
"Hopefully this is great outlet to inform the public ... the sharks are not out to get you," he said.
He explained that sharks do this migration every year, and they rarely bite humans in Florida. "We have relatively few bites on people compared to the number of sharks."
