TSA Agent Finds Stowaway Dog In Owner's Checked Suitcase

The Chihuahua apparently wanted to join its owner on her trip.

A TSA agent got a shock this week when he found a Chihuahua inside a checked bag at LaGuardia Airport.

The agency said on its Instagram page that the officer at the New York City airport responded to a checked bag alarm and found the dog tucked inside the black suitcase.

The dog had apparently tried to join its owner on her trip by crawling inside of her suitcase while she was packing.

"It's always important to double check your bags before traveling, especially to make sure your Chihuahua hasn't stowed away inside one of them," the TSA said.

The owner was completely unaware her 7-year-old dog had hopped into her suitcase, the Associated Press reported.

The woman's husband was able to come to come to the airport and take the dog home, according to the AP.

So, next time you travel, keep an eye out for a wayward pooch.
