For those not familiar with the source material, the film is based on Max Brooks’ best-selling novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War. According to ComingSoon, “the story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane, who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.”
Unlike The Walking Dead, the movie is expected to be more action-packed, with plenty of intense zombie action.
The film stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox, and David Morse. Directed by Marc Forster, it will hit theaters on June 21, 2013.
