“Crime” is the first release from Daddy - a collaboration between James and musician-artist Tim O’Keefe. The two released their debut EP, MotorCity, on September 25th. Listen below:
But wait, how did this all come together? According to James, the two apparently met on a plane and it clicked, let’s make music.
“When we landed I woke up with a smiling face standing over me,” “He said, ‘Hey, I’m a big fan.’ I just stared. ‘It’s Smokey,’ he said. If Smokey Robinson was a fan of mine I wasn’t going to let him get away. Six months later after Tim and I had written the songs I called Smokey from Detroit and asked him to sing on one of the songs and he said sure.”
And it’s not the first time James has crooned. Here’s his version of the pop classic, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”:
- Bomb threats were called into Jewish centers in at least 13 states today, making it the fifth wave of threats since January.
- The suspect in a Kansas shooting that left an Indian man dead thought he was shooting Iranians, and the FBI is investigating as a possible hate crime.
- The House Intelligence chairman denied that his call to a reporter at the behest of the White House would influence the probe of Trump and Russia.
- "Moonlight" won Best Picture at the Oscars, but they accidentally gave it to "La La Land" first 😳
