A Guide To Shabbaton 2014

aka the greatest experience you will ever have

Yes we know... September means the start of school

But do you know what else is in September?

THE SHABBATON

Thursday, September 18th

On Thursday morning, students will bring their REASONABLY sized suitcases to school

The there will be a peaceful and quick ride on the bus

And then we will behold the beauty that is Camp Bryn Mawr

We will split up into grades and play SUPER fun activities

At first you (freshmen) might think you're too cool for such games

But then you'll get over yourself and decide to have fun

Then you will be permitted to take your bags (after they have been inspected) to your bunks

Where the Freshmen...

Will have an adjoining room with the Seniors

Then we will have yummy dinner

And do some grade bonding

AND THEN ITS TIME FOR CAPTURE THE FLAG

Which is different every year so we're not really sure what's going to happen

But Freshmen- You will wear white, you will lose, and that is okay

And then you will go to sleep... or will you?

Then on Friday we will continue to have fun...

Until it's time to get ready for Shabbat

You will have all the time you need to put on makeup

And do your hair...

But for lord's sake leave the ridiculously high heels at home

What you think you look like when you dress up in heels

What you actually look like

And please girls. Keep it appropriate.

The senior girls if the Freshmen girls wear less-than-appropriate dresses

Dont. Do. It.

The senior boys if the Freshmen girls wear less-than-appropriate dresses

Seriously... Don't

Trust us- Jessica will love you for it

YES there will be Friday night services

And wild senior moments

Your mind will be blown

WARNING: Over the course of the shabbaton you may experience romantic-ish feelings towards another student

But remember that only 'casual hugging' is permitted

The awkwarder the better

Fear not- Casual hugging is the only form of affection-showing you will need until marriage

You will lose clothing. It is okay.

You WILL get embarrassed at some point

And your friends will be embarrassed for you

But you will (probably) make new friends

And have an amazing time because the SHABBATON IS THE BEST THING EVER

And you will be sad to leave
