What's Your Favorite Acting Performance That Wasn't Nominated For An Oscar?

There are so many to choose from!

If you're anything like me, then you probably spend most of your free time watching movies.

(And by most, I mean all.)

And if that's the case, I'm sure you have a bunch of favorite acting performances that *gasp* weren't even nominated for Oscars.

Sony Pictures Classics

After all, only a handful of performances get nominated every year. BUT we want to hear allllll about your favorite ones that just didn't make the cut.

*cough* where was Michael Stuhlbarg's Best Supporting Actor nomination for Call Me By Your Name?! *cough*

For example, maybe you have taste and believe that Amy Adams should have been nominated for her brilliant work in Enchanted.

Walt Disney Pictures

She pulled off that animated personality without being too over the top, AND she sang everything herself. Leo DiCaprio could never!

Maybe there was a particular scene that absolutely sold you, like Taraji P. Henson's bathroom speech in Hidden Figures.

Truly iconic!

Or maybe your favorite performance is from a movie that isn't particularly award-worthy. If that's the case, my vote goes to Shelley Long in Troop Beverly Hills.

Columbia Pictures

Shelley Long gives an incredibly underrated comedic performance in this perfect comfort movie. She finds a way to be silly and serious at the same time, and she's able to remain straight-faced without downplaying any of the hilarity or ridiculousness that's happening around her.

Now it's your turn! Use the comments below to tell us which acting performances 100% should have gotten nominated for Oscars, and make sure you tell us why!!!!!! Show us those receipts, people!

The performances also don't need to just be for leading categories. Best Supporting Actor and Actress also count!

And we're talkin' any performance from any year, so if you want to include Thelma Ritter's suuuuuper minor role in the 1947 version of Miracle on 34th Street, or Annette Bening's glorious performance in 20th Century Women from a few years ago, be my guest!

The best responses will be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community post or video!
