What Do Movies And TV Shows Always Get Wrong About Being A Teenager?

Why does everyone have perfect skin?!

Real talk: movies and TV shows are filled with unrealistic expectations when you're a teenager.

Paramount Pictures / Sarah Wainschel

Remember when Rachel McAdams was 26 years old when Mean Girls premiered, but she was actually playing a 16-year-old character?

Maybe you get annoyed every time you see teenagers on the screen with flawless skin, because it's just not reality.

The CW

Not a pimple in sight!

Perhaps you always question party scenes in movies because no one in their right mind would invite THE ENTIRE SCHOOL over to get drunk.

The CW / Buena Vista Pictures

And how are the cops almost never called? There are literally hundreds of underage kids with alcohol/drugs making a ruckus!*

(*In case you couldn't tell by my using the word "ruckus," I was never invited to parties in high school.)

Maybe you question the outfits of your favorite teens on TV because NO ONE ever wears the same thing more than once.

Like, do you really have that much money and clothes?

Or maybe it always bothers you that students almost never get in trouble in TV/movies, even though they just did something totally awful.

I still haven't forgiven Mandy Moore for what she did to Mia Thermopolis.

There are a million things that pop culture always gets wrong about being a teenager, so use the DropBox below to tell us which unrealistic expectations bother you the most!
