Straight Men Are Sharing Their "Same-Sex Hookup Stories," And My Jaw Is On The Floor

"The 'straight as spaghetti' concept started making a whole lot of sense to me from that day on."

Sex between consenting adults can be a fun, funny, and even awkward experience, and sometimes those experiences are more about, well, experimenting. So we asked straight men of the BuzzFeed Community to tell us about their same-sex hookup encounters. Here are the eye-opening results.

And before we get started, if you're having trouble coming to terms with this article, here's a good explainer from one of our commenters:

1. "In college, I was really interested with sex and pretty much went through the entire catalog of sexual experiences. I agreed to a three-way with a woman and her bisexual boyfriend. You know, it's quite a thing to have a guy's dick in my mouth and at the same time realize that I wasn't the slightest bit into guys. I finished him off though because that's the kind of bro I am."

2. "I received a blowjob from a guy who lived near me, simply because I wanted to know what it felt like. I have a female friend who is bi, and she said that women know how to do oral better than most guys, so I just had this thought that it would be the same for guys..."

"...I was on a site for swingers at the time, and after a few drinks one evening I just thought, 'Don't knock it until you try it.' I messaged a guy near me and told him I just wanted a quick BJ, and he agreed. He did all the work. I didn't finish because it felt, well, awkward. It was okay I guess, but I didn't feel comfortable having a guy doing it. I told him to stop and said sorry for wasting his time. He was understanding and held no hard feelings (he knew it was just an experiment), and I left. I'm glad I did it, but I wouldn't do it again."

3. "When I was younger, a friend and I had a game we played on one of those over-the-door toy basketball hoops. Whenever we scored a basket, we would dry-hump our erections together (clothed). Eventually we stopped shooting baskets and just got right to the dry-humping."

4. "When I was in my early teens, a friend and I experimented a number of times with swapping blowjobs. It was fun, and I don't regret it at all. I suspect a big part of it was that we were best friends, so it didn't seem awkward..."

"...In adulthood, I assumed I was a bit bisexual due to those earlier encounters with my friend. I was in a dry spell with women, so I decided to try men but quickly learned that I don't feel any attraction to men. And unless I'm unusually horny, I'm kinda repulsed by the idea."

5. "I met a guy online who refused to send a pic of himself out of fear. I decided to take a chance and meet him at his house. He opened the door, and damn. To this day, he's in the top two of the most attractive people I’ve ever hooked up with, lol..."

"Turned out he was married and his wife was a nurse and on the night shift. We had incredible sex, drank some beers, and he let me shower afterward. I felt a little guilty, but who knows what type of arrangement he and his wife had. It was honestly one of the best hookups of my life."

6. "My buddy and I lost a beer pong game, and our losing punishment was that we both had to strip naked and give each other a lap dance. The winners couldn't stop laughing because we both had full chubs by the end of the song."

7. "Gay here. After it was general knowledge that I was gay, a handful of my straight guy friends made passes at me from home and in college. One guy told me he wasn't closed-minded and he wanted to hook up. We ended up making out, doing some foreplay, and even had sex that night..."

"...He told me he had fun and was really glad he tried, but that it confirmed for him that he was mostly straight. I said, 'That's cool. I had fun too and it confirmed for me that I'm mostly gay,' lol. It was very causal, cool, and we're still friends to this day. I've found that once people know you're gay, even in small areas, you find a lot more straight or bi-curious guys than most people would think."

8. "I'm not straight, but I've hooked up with about six or seven straight guys. I use a dating/sex platform that's inclusive (meaning people of all sexualities can write each other). Most of the time I just message the guys I think are hot without checking their sexual orientation..."

"...Conversations then are mostly like, 'Hey, you're hot' / 'I'm straight, but thanks' / 'No problem for me' / 'Haha what do you mean?' And, well, then I describe what I mean haha.

What can I say? I've had some great sex with straight guys. What I was most surprised to learn is that most straight guys in my experience are not at all interested in just getting a blowjob or being a top. Very often, they really, realllllly want to try sucking. A lot also want to try being a bottom. What makes me sad is that these guys can't just say it or don't dare to in public because our toxic gender roles say that exploring with something in your butt is 'feminine,' and that means it's bad."

9. "About 35 years ago, I shared a two-story apartment with two other guys, one of whom was bisexual. As I was about to get into the shower one day, he asked if he could 'share a shower' with me. I told him that I would prefer not. We let it drop and he never asked me anything like that again, but I often fantasize about what might have happened if I had said yes."

10. "I had been drinking and was spending the night at a friend's house. We were watching a movie and just kind of talking. We got on the topic of sex and whether we'd ever thought about having sex with another man. We both said we were curious about what it would be like, but neither of us wanted to act on it much. One thing led to another..."

"...And we decided to start experimenting a bit with each other. At first it was exciting because of the lead-up and because it was something neither of us had done before. But after a little bit, that started to fade and we both realized that it wasn’t for us. We ended up just heading to bed. We talked about it the next day, and it hasn’t been weird or anything since. It’s one of those things where we’re glad we tried it to get rid of that curiosity, but we both wouldn’t do it again."

11. "I'm straight and have hooked up with men a few times, almost always as an anonymous/discreet encounter. It's never a topping/bottoming thing. Just getting naked and doing what feels good with another guy. I visited a bathhouse in Amsterdam in my early twenties, and I’ve always enjoyed a little fun."

12. "I experimented with my best friend a few times when we were growing up. I knew I was straight when I realized I felt completely indifferent while he was getting into it. It made me a whole lot more comfortable with my own sexuality..."

"...I've offered him much of the same advice about the guys he was dating or who was into him, as I would with my other friends about the women in or around their lives."

13. "A buddy of mine and I hit the town one night but didn't have any luck. We ended up back at his place, with several rounds in us and nothing but hormones. We ended up fooling around — hands and mouths went almost everywhere..."

"...We woke up the next morning and tried it again, but it was not like the night before. Overall, it was a fun experience. We were jerk-off bros for a while after, but then it just kind of fizzled out."

14. "I'm gay, but my best friend is not. We've cuddled a bit and have slept in the same bed and even woke up spooning. It's never been an issue. It's not a sexual thing — just intimacy between close friends."

15. "I've had a couple of gay encounters. It wasn't terrible, to be honest. A blowjob feels pretty much the same regardless of who's delivering it. Giving oral to a dude was pretty meh. It was kinda cool, but not something I'd go out of my way to do again. Never went farther than oral..."

"...I did learn that while I'm generally okay with giving and receiving oral, I DO NOT like kissing people of the same gender. I consider myself straight, despite having experimented."

16. "I used to kiss my best friend on the lips. Back in high school, we were all very loose with our actions. We never kissed romantically. Just as a joke to his girlfriends. Truth or dare lead to some weird moments, but it was always funny and never sexual."

17. And lastly, "I was at a very small gathering with friends. One of them let it slip that she'd find it 'totally hot' if two guys made out in front of her and that she'd always secretly wished for it to happen. My bud and I instantly exchanged a look. It still makes me laugh just remembering his stupid grin, but it was kinda exciting too. He took my face in his hands, and we full-on made out with tender fondling and butt groping and everything..."

"...I don't know how much was the action itself and how much can be attributed to her red-faced, appreciative reactions, but I definitely felt something. The 'straight as spaghetti' concept started making a whole lot of sense to me from that day on."
