17 People Who Realllllllllllllly Fucked Up At Work

Oh my god.

We asked the BuzzFeed Community for the worst mistake they've ever made at work. Here are the hilarious and cringeworthy results:

1. This aquarium disaster:

"I had an internship at an aquarium in Chicago. I was cleaning the room behind several of our very large fish tanks and knocked over a big, heavy pipe, breaking a huge hole in the tank glass. Water came pouring out as I unsuccessfully tried to stem the flow with my hands and screamed for help. The fish had to be 'evacuated' to other tanks, and the exhibit was out of order for weeks. Luckily no animals died."

2. This awkward silence:

"I'm a medical provider, and I have a general list of questions I ask my heart patients. For example: 'Do you ever experience swelling in your legs?' I asked this to...a double amputee. Worst thing about the situation? His family was in the room."

3. This necessary repair:

"My husband was a mechanic at a high-end auto shop in the rich part of town. One day, a BMW came in for an oil change. My husband put it up in the lift, but apparently he forgot to put the car in park. After a $149,000 mistake like that, my husband is no longer a mechanic."

4. This gaping hole:

"I used to work as an admin at a funeral home. One day I was helping to set up for a service. We moved some big flower displays next to the casket and I tripped and my hand went straight through a $300 arrangement, right in front of my boss. Thankfully I was able to rearrange some flowers to sorta cover up the gaping hole, and the family never noticed."

5. This accountant's blunder:

"It was my first year at an accounting firm, and I forgot to mail in a client's checks for their federal and state taxes. It took a few months for them to realize the checks didn't clear, which resulted in a $4,000 penalty that my bosses had to pay on their behalf. I felt like such a fuckup."

6. This cheesy mess:

"It was my first day on the job at a pizza chain. I dropped a pizza, fresh from the oven, on my boss. I felt awful about it."

7. This grande spill:

"I work at a Starbucks inside a Target. I was working alone and there was a huge rush. While I was using a shaker to make someone's iced tea, I went to the register to ring up the next customer, still shaking the drink. The lid popped off and the contents got dumped all over the register. I quickly remade the drink, went back to the register so they could pay, and realized the liquid had fried the whole terminal. We had to shut the store down for the rest of the day."

8. This cold occurrence:

"I tried to chip away at some overgrown ice in a mini fridge and ended up hitting the freon, which proceeded to spray in my face. The fridge was ruined, but at least I didn't die from inhaling freon. I still work for the same company, despite that being one of the many things I've broken."

9. This baker's mistake:

"I worked in a large bakery inside a theme park. My co-worker and I needed to put a tram of cakes in the freezer. The large freezer was, unfortunately, outside and across a sidewalk full of cracks and holes. We were in a rush and didn't avoid the cracks as well as we normally would, and the tram's wheels got caught. A whole person-height tram full of finished cakes fell to the ground, right in front of my managers. Luckily they just laughed at us."

10. This bartender's nightmare:

"I was working as a bartender and had to clean up for the night. One of our freezers is really long and wide and it rolls and we have to get behind it to sweep. When I moved the freezer back to its normal spot, I accidentally unplugged it. The freezer obviously had a bunch of stuff that needed to be frozen. My mistake ruined everything inside and cost the restaurant over $2,000."

11. This doctor's mistake:

"I once put eye drops in someone's eye that would keep them dilated for two weeks instead of the regular few hours. My bad."

12. This left knee-slapper:

"While scheduling an appointment on the phone, I asked a patient if they were having trouble walking. She said, 'Well, no, I can't walk... I'm in a wheelchair.' After that, I asked which leg was hurting her, to which she responded, 'Well, sweetie, I only have one leg, so I'm gonna have to say the left.'"

13. This interesting response:

"I worked in fast food and was in the break room in the back. There were cameras there, and five minutes into my break I looked up and saw that my co-worker was being held at gunpoint. I could've hid in there or even called the police, but my dumb ass decided that if the robber found me he'd be mad that I was hiding, so I walked right outside into the middle of the robbery and was just like 'Hey.'"

14. This big no-no:

"I was opening up the vet clinic and turned on the lights. Unbeknownst to me, the wiring was very old, and it lit the insulation in the ceiling on fire. Luckily we didn't have any patients at the time, so everyone evacuated safely."

15. This milky problem:

"I work in fast food. We have these bags to refill the ice cream maker in our walk-in fridge — it's just a bag with a plug, and the plug is pretty hard to get off. The bags were super heavy and stacked above my head. As I grabbed one of the bags, the plug got caught and it opened and poured gallons of liquid ice cream all over me, the floor, and everything in the fridge. I was only 30 minutes into my eight-hour shift."

16. This wheaty whoopsy:

"I work at a brewery. One day, the owner went to buy some honey for the beer we were brewing. I needed something from my car while the beer was boiling, so I went to get it. I accidentally locked myself out of the brewery, and my phone was inside. I had to just helplessly sit there until the owner returned. When we finally got back in, there was beer pouring out of the top of the tank."

17. And THIS:

"I slept with my boss...and got pregnant."
