5 Sci-Fi Movies That Are Becoming Reality

With the recent news of the cannibal attacks in Miami and Louisiana, venomous spiders in India, and the trending YouTube video on "Miami Zombie Attack Prank," it sure seems like the Sci-Fi movies that we, geeks, are obsessed with are slowly becoming reality!

1. Dawn of the Dead (1978)

With the recent acts of “zombie” violence in the news, Dawn of the Dead is coming to life. Has the epidemic begun?

2. Armageddon (1998)

One of the many theories on the apocalypse is that it will come with an asteroid hitting Earth. While the movie wasn’t based on any anticipation of this happening anytime soon, NASA says that there is a small possibility that asteroid 1999 AN10 may hit Earth in 2039.

3. Arachnophobia (1990)

In Arachnophobia a deadly Venezuelan spider ends up in a small American town where it hatches hundreds more spiders and begins killing people. In India, in two days two people were killed by spider bites after swarms of deadly spiders invaded.

4. Dracula (1931)

Dracula is the ultimate vampire movie, and while we haven’t officially noted any actual vampires, after the Twilight craze teens in Texas began biting each other (and drawing blood!) to show affection. Who would’ve ever thought?

5. Star Wars (1977)

Star Wars fans have always been intrigued by the holograms used in the movie. While the same hologram technology hasn’t been completely developed yet, during the 2012 Coachella a hologram of the deceased Tupac presented him performing.
