Kerala Women Are Sending A Minister Duct Tape To Shut His Mouth After He Shamed A Rape Survivor

"He has been repeatedly doing this, using his power as MLA to make statements that affect the mental well-being of victims... Our first need was to help him shut up."

This is Kerala MLA P.C. George.

Recently, he made a remark about a 46-year-old nun who alleged that she was sexually abused by Jalandhar-based priest, Bishop Franco Mullackal.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) also sent him a notice for the same.

In protest against his comments, activist Aysha Mahmood decided to start the #VaayaMoodalCampaign in which women send duct tape to P.C. George's address to shut him up.

"Vaaya Moodal" literally translates to "Shut up" in Malayalam.

In a Deccan Chronicle report, Mahmood said, "We thought our first need was to get him to stop spewing so much hate and allegations on victims. He has been repeatedly doing this, using his power as MLA to make statements that affect the mental well-being of victims. Our first need was to help him shut up."

In response, multiple women across Kerala have legit ordered and sent tape to George in protest.

Even actresses Parvathy and Swara Bhasker voiced their support for the campaign.

If nothing, here's just hoping ministers learn to not speak when they're not asked to and can just vaaya moodeda.
