11 Women Who Prove Your Life Is Meaningless If You're Unmarried After 30

Aunties, tell these women to stop running the world and to settle down.

Posted on

Ladies, as you know, none of your accomplishments are of any value...except baggin' a hubster.

Behind every successful woman are her parents... wondering why she hasn't found someone yet and when she plans on getting married.

Indeed, we are SURROUNDED by examples of sad, sad women whose lives could’ve been fulfilling – had they only found themselves the perfect rishta by 30. Poor, poor women.

1. Pooja Dhingra, 30

Poor Pooja – nothing to show for herself except, oh wait, best-selling books, innumerable awards, A-list celebrity clients, and the thriving business she set up all by herself at 23. Life must be so difficult.

2. Zoya Akhtar, 44

Someone tell Zoya that just making ridiculously successful films such as Dil Dhadakne Do, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Luck By Chance is not enough to make up for the OBVIOUS hole that is her single life. Tch.

3. Priyanka Chopra, 34

Poor Priyanka seems to have forgotten her body clock is ticking.

Instead, she’s just running her own show on American primetime TV, delivering blockbusters year after year, starring alongside The Rock in the upcoming Baywatch movie, and collecting awards and fans around the world.

4. Barkha Dutt, 45

Without a husband, Barkha has been forced to become an Emmy-nominated journalist in India and report from the frontlines in times of war and inspire a whole generation of journalists. Gasp.

5. Ekta Kapoor, 41

Even though she is unmarried, Ekta keeps herself upbeat by creating the most-watched and longest-running TV shows in India, producing blockbuster movies such as The Dirty Picture and Ragini MMS, and amassing a net worth of ₹80 crores.

Aunty. Please kuch karo.

8. Kavita Krishnan, 44

Did no one tell Kavita that her life is incomplete without a husband? Maybe that is why she's gone about being a champion for women's rights and dalit rights across the country and helped thousands of people with her voice.

9. Sushmita Sen, 41

Poor Sushmita. Guess she will have to clutch on to her Miss Universe crown and two beautiful daughters at night to keep her warm now that she doesn't have a husband.

10. Nimrat Kaur, 35

Thirty-five may be too late to get a good, well-settled NRI ladka, so maybe it’s good only that humaari Nimrat starred in the internationally acclaimed film The Lunchbox, whole seasons of Homeland and Wayward Pines, and also one of the biggest box-office hits in Bollywood last year, Airlift.

11. Mindy Kaling, 37

Maybe Mindy was too busy using the mahurat ka samay to write, produce, and star in her own show as well as in the all-female Ocean’s Eleven and in A Wrinkle in Time.

Save her from superstardom on her own terms, auntyji.

Barkha Dutt has been nominated for an Emmy Award. An earlier version of this post misstated that she'd won it.
