Arnab Asked A BJP Rep 4 Simple Questions About Tanmay Bhat To Remind Her Of More Pressing Issues

"The government is very concerned about Snapchat. Now let me tell you what drought is."

Today's news has been flooded by the story of comedian Tanmay Bhat getting threats and cases filed against him for a video of him face-swapping with Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar.

The viral video titled, "Sachin vs. Lata Civil War" was uploaded on May 26 and has garnered 4,35,000 views since.

On The Newshour tonight, BJP spokesperson Shaina NC voiced opposition to Bhat's video, deeming it "offensive". In response, Arnab asked:

    Times Now
    Times Now
    Times Now

    He also added:

Shaina, there is a thing called Snapchat. Snapchat is an instant message and multimedia mobile app used in the smartphone age. In fact, the video is deleted within a maximum period of 24 hours. The government is very, very concerned about Snapchat. Now, let me tell you what drought is. Drought is a prolonged period of abnormally low rainfall. 28,000 villages have been hit in Maharashtra across 20-22 districts. What should be the concern of the Maharashtra government — Snapchat or drought? Please answer my question tonight.

On the other hand, there is Shiv Sena, your ally for the moment. Shiv Sena vandalised a clinic in Palghar because the clinic had links with a girl who commented on Facebook when Bal Thackeray died. The clinic was vandalised and broken apart. I don't know what was the psychological damage caused. What is more offensive? What Tanmay Bhat did? Or what Shiv Sena did? Don't give me a politically correct reply.

Twitter was slow clapping in front of their screens for the news anchor.
