    After the Supreme Court announced a ban on the ancient bull-fighting tradition of Jallikattu, there have been heated debates surrounding the issue with protests both for and against the ban taking place all over the state.

    During Jallikattu, a running bull is released into a crowd of people. Participants attempt to grab the bull's hump and ride it for as long as possible, attempting to bring the bull to a stop.

    While one side of the protests claims that the ancient tradition which has shaped Tamizh culture cannot be suddenly overseen, the other side claims that the cruelty involved in bull-fighting should be reason enough for the ban to stay.
