It has been considered as the business landscape was man's world. And it s also considered that women are second in gender hierarchy, where they are to bear all the pain silently as a sign of stigma. They are the one expected to carry the pride and respect of the family, especially men's pride yet discounted as weaker gender. Women, on one hand, multitask to keep up with every expectation and on other hand faces the disgrace of being dependent. With such stereotypes mindset, it would be further more hard to think that a women who has constantly faced challenges in personal life handling deepest concerns like being undergone marital rape, coma while she was pregnant, left out by step mother and father when she needed their parents support the most, later partially paralyzed due to emotional, physically abused by in-laws and later abandoned and socially pulled down by low minds who commented on her decisions rather understanding her circumstances. Q 1) Could you tell us something about how your childhood was?
A: Childhood was beautiful in my dad's presence. he has been there as hero and person filled with affection. But at the same time my nanny who took care of me use to harsh. In sense, she uses to beat almost every day. I use to have brushes and aches due to her physical handling. She uses to justify her actions by saying I was a slow learner, though I use to score the first rank in the class. I had an uncle(my dad's younger brother) and my granny who use to take good care of me. It was a mixture of lots of pampering by dad and on other side dealing with and escaping from nanny's torture.(smiling now) When I was in my 11-12 Yrs of age I got introduced to my step mom as my own mother. My step mom(whom we call mummy) never beat me but it didn't take too much time to understand the differentiation she showed towards me and my younger brother(who is given birth by mummy), that when slowly I was getting to know that she is not my real mom. But so far, even today I don't know what happened, my real mom. By the time I started knowing and asking questions on this, I was 16 Yrs. My mom and aunt(dad's younger sister) together plotted and accused me of characterless because I was outspoken. I exactly don't know who started this conspiracy but they linked me with a neighbor boy as he was attracted towards me. According to them, I was a bad girl. I initially didn't understand what was going on but when I understood I rebelled, which led to fights between my mom and dad. Then everyone started advising me to say yes to marriage so dad and mom don't split as my mom was planning to leave my dad. so by 17, I was married without knowing what marriage is all about.
Q 2) What were your teen dreams?
A: As a child, I had dreams and voice. teens were horrific and confused years. As a child, I always wanted to become a heart surgeon and an artist like "Bapi" a well-known artist in our state. Colors and painting were my worlds in fact. Only when someone asked what you want to become I use to say, Doctor, as I wanted to save lives by operating and giving life. And now, I have a dream of building a shelter home for single mom's and their children so we can support, cleanse and build them as entrepreneurs and those who are not interested can be placed in jobs so they become self-sustainable.
Q 3) Why did you choose education field?
A: When I was pregnant, I didn't know what to do and what not to do. And there was no one to tell anything. So I use to ask the doctors. One lady doctor has recommended a book on pregnancy and after pregnancy care. I use to read that book and if I have any questions, I use to ask that doctor in next consultation. She appreciated my learning and sharing ability. I guess that was the movement I slowly got back to my books world. I know the power we would get when we are aware of anything. Being knowledgeable is highly important when we don't have anyone. Books are best teachers. With the knowledge we get broader and better perspective. So, I started sharing what I learned. But also found that there are many like me who don't know many things in detail. But if brought awareness can change the mindset and make better choices. It's like lighting up the dark space. Another reason was that when I wanted to take up a job, my dad wasn't happy. According to him, we don't need to go out and do any job. Why work under someone? why work with men? such questions raised. But I was passionate about working so I came up with School as my working model when I don't have to work under someone and with men. I found the school is a way to go ahead with my passion to work and be independent. I cherished every work I did so far as I was learning and developing not only myself but also others in whichever way possible.
Q 4) How did entrepreneur journey start? What are your long term goals?
A: Entrepreneurial journey started in 2011 when I was notified as one of the Top 10 Business Psychologist in India by American Institute of Business Psychology. When I started planning and strategically venture out into HR executive search and Leadership Training firm. It took a years time to register as my start up in zero money investment firm. Currently, we are well known in 6 states in India and we have catered few international clients, say in Qatar & Italy and Abu Dhabi, Dubai through online training so far. My long term vision is to live up to our business values, I e.
Our Business Values are embedded in how we build success:
•Creative and innovative,
•Build transformation leaders
•Accountability, Ethics, and Ownership
•Superior standards in mentoring and training delivery,
•Add Greater value and serve beyond client's expectations
•We value local community and are socially responsible.
In last 6 years, we have never given any advertisement as our values got us more clients. Now, that my son is done with graduation and helping me in at work, I want to take his inputs in building more customers and increase the team to cater all across India. It would take a huge investment to launch as a National level company, which is a challenging factor as of now. But, if we feel working like this we can slowly capture market state by state.
Q 5) Tell me something about your son?
A: Not because he is my son, but generally speaking he is a gem of a person. Very caring, empathetic and hardworking. Very passionate about making things happen. His childhood was lots of ups and downs due to obvious reasons but he never complained about anything. He is quick at picking up in situations and fight back. He knew for his helping nature and understanding ability in his friend's circle. He wants to become a business person so opted for Business Management/ Administration studies. He is a foodie and also loves to cook. While I'm working for at a stretch of 26-27 days a month, he is the one who takes care of my food and well being now. Suhaas is also great with his photography skills. Loves to trek, spend time in nature. Suhaas made a choice of changing his surname as my first name. He says that that is the best thing he can give me and his future generation by mentioning "V- Vahini" as a surname as he wants coming generations to know about his mother and the history.
Q 6) What was an early experience where you learned that language had power
A: I don't remember, but I was always outspoken in my childhood due to my dad's pampering I guess. And it was again in early 30's I realized that if you don't speak up for yourself people who manipulate things/ information according to their choice and convenience in spite of knowing the truth. So, I started to speak again.
Q7) What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning an educator's career.
A: For me, education was not easy, as I was saving funds from my payments and then enroll myself there are times when I paid my fees but couldn't write my exams because I was opposed to someone who was back then husband. It was like if she gets educated she would understand things in a better manner and would question more. So suppress her. That's one incidence, likewise, I had my own challenges but books were never away from me. somehow I am more into books. My research is on Human Behavior (you can understand why) as I always wanted to know why people behave differently and why they feel the need to change their words or harm someone without a reason. So I started with Human Behavior and its effects on the environment in work-life. However, as I started learning I got more and more fascinated on how much it influenced surrounding and the cosmos as well. So it's over all 12+ years of research on Human behavior and Metaphysical science.
Q8) Your expectations from your book.
A: 1) To reach out to as many as possible so I can share courage, compassion, and enlightenment to those who are in a state of mind thinking that their life is done. No, it's not true. We always have power to change our situations if we stand for ourselves and work inwardly. 2) I have a dream of supporting single mom's and their children by building shelter home to create a community that nurtures secure and strong behavior in mother and child. Hope this book would reach out philanthropist who can support the cause I'm working on. To assure that they are not alone in their adverse struggles that they are put in.
