The Fault in Our Stars is a YA novel by John Green. It is about a sixteen-year-old cancer patient named Hazel. You should read the book and go see the movie. Here's why:

1. It's a love story with cancer but it's not about cancer

The Fault in Our Stars is amazing because although there is the looming doom of a love story involving cancer; it's not about cancer. The Fault in Our Stars serves as a reminder to us all that a person is not their disease. They are still a person and they are so much more than their disease. Young Hazel Grace is reminded of that and we should all be reminded of that as well.

4. The author aka John Green

John Green? He's "okay." John Green is a phenomenal writer. His stories are amazing. He has also written Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines and co-wrote Will Grayson, Will Grayson. He also makes YouTube videos with his brother Hank (they're called the vlogbrothers). He also says things like "don't forget to be awesome."

5. The Namesake

The title for the book (The Fault in Our Stars) was inspired by a line in Shakespeare's play Julius Cesar.

"The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, / But in ourselves, that we are underlings." -Julius Cesar (Act 1, Scene 2)

7. True to the book

The Fault in Our Stars movie has been said to true be to the tone of the book. Shaliene Woodley said, "It's pretty sad...but it's also really empowering. It's like the book. I think the movie really mastered the tone of the book."

9. Shaliene Woodley and Ansel Elgort are the cutest

Shaliene Woodley (Hazel) and Ansel Elgort (Augustus) knew each other when they filmed The Fault in Our Stars because they had just filmed Divergent together (Shaliene plays Tris and Ansel plays Caleb in Divergent). Their friendship is seriously just the cutest.
