The Labour education spokesperson was visiting a primary school in Derbyshire on Wednesday to promote the party's plan to invest more in education than the Conservatives.

But it all went horribly wrong when Hunt asked one of the children which party he would vote for if given the opportunity.

Fortunately, BBC East Midlands was there to catch it all on camera.

When the child said UKIP, Hunt simply said, "Very good," and asked why.

The child said, "To get all the foreigners out the country," prompting this pained expression from Hunt.

And that's why politicians should never ask anyone how they're planning to vote when there's a camera around.
