Boris Johnson Just Spoke To A Brick At The Conservative Party Conference

The London mayor also discussed cummerbunds.

Today, the mayor of London gave his speech to the Conservative party conference. And he showed the audience a brick.

Unlike Labour leader Ed Miliband, who focused his speech at his party's conference on people he appeared to have bumped into at parks and parties, Johnson placed his focus on businesses.

He was particularly interested on a company in a seat with a small Labour majority that makes 80 million bricks a year.

At one point, he spoke to the brick.

"And one way or another we will need 1 billion bricks," he said. "So, brick, my little friend, you will not be alone in London. That is a lot of work for the factories of the Midlands."

Johnson also made an odd joke about how his family are from the planet Zog.

Talking about how 100,000 affordable homes were built during Johnson's reign as mayor, he said that new homes in London should be "sold first to the people of this country, not to oligarchs from the planet Zog".

He added: "Though I am very far from Zogist; most of my ancestors come from Zog, and am generally in favour of foreign investment."

The mayor also brought up cummerbunds.

Apparently there's a company in Lancashire that's had to hire more staff because of an increase in demand for cummerbands.

    We have many questions.
