Social media plays a big role in how I receive book recommendations. Whether it's on Instagram, TikTok, or Twitter, people just know how to sell books. One way to do this is by sharing a quote or a small paragraph from the book that instantly catches the reader's attention.
the urge to buy a romance book after i see a random quote online
So, I decided to compile tweets, TikToks, and Instagram posts (found below) that fully made me want to drop everything and get the book (sometimes, I totally did it!). Does that sound familiar? Yeah, we're in the same boat, my friend.
1. Ever After Always by Chloe Liese
banger first line
What better way to start this list but with a Chloe Liese novel, am I right? Ever After Always is the third book in the Bergman Brothers series. This first line really sets the tone of the book; Freya and Aiden are a married couple going through a bump in their relationship, making this a trouble in paradise book! There's no question about it: Liese has completely captured our hearts with this romance series.
2. Beach Read by Emily Henry
I WANT THIS QUOTE ENGRAVED ON MY HEADSTONE WHEN I D!E
If you're like me, you can always find Emily Henry quotes in your feed. And they work, okay! Emily Henry's writing is beautiful. I could include so many quotes from this book, and they would all be outstanding.
In Beach Read, a romance writer and a literary fiction author are both going through writer's block while staying in neighboring beach houses. So they come up with a solution: They'll partake in a summer-long challenge to learn more about the other's process and genre. What they don't realize is that it may just completely change their lives.
3. Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren
i just finished reading love and other words.
Every time I see this quote, I can't help but swoon. Christina Lauren knows her way around words. This book follows estranged best friends Macy and Elliot who reunite by chance. After that last night together years ago, they build a life trying to survive in a world where they aren't together. But with fate on their side, they happen to meet again. Before they start to think about a future together, they have to go back to the past and understand what went wrong.
4. Seven Days in June by Tia Williams
seven days in june spoilers // eva shane breakdown hours
Isn't it romantic to find little, tiny things from yourself inside a book? Well, for Eva and Shane, this happens often. You see, these two authors may write very different genres, but somehow they always include the other one in their books.
They happen to meet in New York at a literary event, but what the public and the literary world don't know is that these two have already met years ago. As teenagers, they spent one intense, torrid week falling in love. And over the next seven days, Eva and Shane will reconnect to try to mend their broken hearts.
5. You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle
“You can’t leave me here when I’m ill.” “I think you’re lovesick. You are. Trust me, I know all the signs. It’s a condition I’m quite familiar with myself.”
I get so emotional each and every time I encounter a quote like this in my timeline. It makes me want to reread this book — and I've already done reread this particular one, like, five times in the last year! Sarah Hogle debuted with You Deserve Each Other, and it's not an understatement when I say that she took the world by storm when she did.
Laughter won't be missing while you're reading this book. You'll get to meet Naomi and Nicholas who are engaged to be married. But the thing is, Naomi's tired. She wants to break off their engagement. But if she does, she'll have to pay the wedding cancellation fees, and she doesn't have the money for that. So, she comes up with a plan: enter a full-on prank war with Nicholas so he can be the one to end it all. She thought it would be easy, but she never expected to fall for Nicholas all over again.
6. Restore Me by J.L. Seegars
dominic alexander >>
Why do you need to read this book? Because it's angsty, steamy, and so romantic. You'll find yourself falling madly in love with two characters who couldn't be more different, and yet, they make sense together. Sloane and Dominic have hated each other since the very first day they met. They'd rather not see each other, but when a new job puts them in the same room, they have to put their differences aside in order to complete the assignment. When attraction and fireworks start to appear, you would think it would be easy to succumb to it. But no, not for them. Because Sloane is the wife of his dead best friend.
7. Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman
oh
While writing this article, I was currently reading this book. And let me tell you something: Funny You Should Ask is everything you need. This celebrity romance features a writer and an actor who reunite years after their viral interview, the very one that kickstarted their careers. Ten years later, everyone still wonders what happened between them that weekend. So it's no surprise to Chani when she's approached to do another interview with Gabe Parker. With lingering, unresolved feelings and unanswered questions, Chani and Gabe must figure out a way to get their happily ever after.
8. Take the Lead by Jaqueline Snowe
when you HAVE to kiss your fake boyfriend in public to make everyone believe you’re actually dating, you know?
If you're a fan of sports romances, Jaqueline Snowe has to be on your list. Take the Lead is her newest installment in the Central State series, following childhood friends Daniella and Gabriel who have agreed to fake date for the holidays. For Daniella, her mom is her biggest obstacle. Between arranging blind dates for her and constantly belittling her, she feels like she will never be enough. Enter Gabriel, her childhood friend and her best friend's brother. So, you know, he's off-limits. Gabriel lives in her head and her late-night fantasies, but that soon starts to change when they start to pretend to be in a relationship.
9. In the Weeds by B.K. Borison
🤧🤧🤧
Beckett and Evelyn will instantly make you swoon. This second-chance romance between a social media influencer and a grumpy, quiet farmer is what you need in your life right now. In The Weeds follows these two characters as they reunite not once, but twice after their two-night stand. When Evelyn thinks about the last time she felt happy, she instantly thinks of Lovelight Farms and Inglewild. She thinks of Beckett. So she decides to go back and find her happy, but while she tries her hardest to do so, Beckett is right there, helping her along, holding her hand, and giving her all his love in quiet, soft ways.
10. Throttled by Lauren Asher
“hi, this is maya. do you copy?” “hi, this is noah. i copy.” LIVES WERE CHANGED
Since the Netflix series came out, Formula 1 and racing itself is everywhere. Everyone in the world is talking about it and, I'm sure, tuning in every race weekend. When I first heard about Lauren Asher's Dirty Air series, I can't lie — I was intrigued. Four books, each of them featuring a Formula 1 driver. This quote is from the first book, Throttled, and introduces us to Maya and Noah. They kick-start this series in an epic way: with banter for days and romance to swoon over. Maya's brother is Noah's newest teammate, but also his rival. So it complicates their relationship when they start to fall for each other.
12. The Summer of Broken Rules by K. L. Walther
they invented love. it’s true!
A romance book inspired by Taylor Swift's songs? Wait a minute...I AM GAME. The Summer of Broken Rules is a book that captures all the best summer has to offer. Looking for a new book to read now that you're done watching The Summer I Turned Pretty? This is the right pick for you! (Also, here's 22 more if you need them!)
Meredith has been going to Martha's Vineyard during summer for as long as she can remember, but this summer is different. It's the first summer she'll be going without her sister. And it all feels too overwhelming for her, especially because the whole family is going to be there for her cousin's wedding. The good thing is that she has the game of Assassin to anticipate — and a cute groomsman is her target.
13. Delilah Green Doesn't Care by Ashley Herring Blake
14. Twisted Games by Ana Huang
15. Parker by Jack Harbon
They’re so cute pls 🥺🤧
Jack Harbon really messed me up with this book. Parker is an emotional tale of second chances, found family, healing, and romance in unexpected places. Follow Trey, a young man who has just left an abusive relationship. He soon finds himself in the house of an old lady who is known for adopting "strays," and Trey is the newest addition to the small found family. It's there where he meets Parker, her oldest one.
16. Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan
“If you were mine, Iris, there would be no doubt what position you’d hold in my life. You’d be center. I’d play you at the five.” SJBSIENDIENXISNDIENDJDNSOKSNDIENSKSJENDKENDMDMMDMDMDNDMXMSMSMZMSKEJZIEBSKSNKSMSNXNX
Kennedy Ryan is known for giving us stories that make you feel. There won't be dry eyes in the house after reading her books. Long Shot is a heart-wrenching story about second chances, what-ifs, and personal healing. This quote just gives you a little taste of what is waiting for you when you open up the book.
August and Iris met one night when they were in college. That night pretty much changed their lives, but neither of them knew it at the moment. After going their separate ways, August and Iris built their lives away from each other, even though they always came back to that one night. If you're into sports romances, I highly recommend reading the entire Hoops series, but definitely Long Shot.

17. It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey
18. Funny Feelings by Tarah Dewitt
@gillowschild AANYA IM EATING THIS SHIT UP THEY’RE SO CUTE
Funny Feelings is the kind of book that reaches into your soul when you start reading it, that's a sure fact. Farley and Meyer's story slowly warms you up with its beautiful, wholesome journey. You won't be able to stop reading until the very last page.
Farley's dreams are about to come true, but first, she has to pretend to be in a relationship with her friend and manager Meyer. Meyer and his daughter, Hazel, have become everything to her from the moment they first met. The stakes are high when it's not only her career on the line, but also her relationship with him.
19. How to Find a Princess by Alyssa Cole
“Kissing. Pressing mouths together.” Bez grazed her finger up Makeda’s jawline and reveled in the tremor that it elicited. “Do you like it?” Alyssa Cole, How to Find a Princess
When you're a child, sometimes you daydream of becoming a secret princess. What if my parents ran away from this faraway country and they were royalty, so therefore, I am a princess? I'm living a normal life, but maybe sometime soon, someone will tell us they need our help, that we need to take the throne again...
Yeah, this is what happened to Makeda throughout her life. But she doesn't want to rehash how her grandmother spent one summer with a runaway prince again. Yet, when Beznaria Chetchevaliere enters her life, looking for a missing princess from her kingdom, a whole new world opens up for her.
20. Meet Me Halfway by Lilian T. James
men who r so down bad they say shit like this, hang out with her 8 year old son, and literally learns to crochet blankets to help her donate to an organization she cares about YEAHHHH HE GOT ME!!
This book is filled with bangers, not going to lie! Lilian T. James wrote a story that completely mesmerized me. Madison is a single mother of one who just moved to a new place. She can finally start a new chapter in her life, away from abusive exes and trouble. But her grumpy neighbor is not making things easy. Even though she thinks he finds her annoying, he's always there when she needs help. Meet Me Halfway is a slow-burn romance that will make you smile and easily capture your heart.
