Peter Cary "PC" Peterson — NYC Prep

Bravo brought us the angel named PC in the age of BBM-ing (I guess? I never had a Blackberry, lol) and Gossip Girl, and there is no doubt that PC was to be the Chuck Bass. Meaning, he was kiiiind of a dick, but he was also complicated and brooding...or at least I assume that's why they included scenes between PC and his therapist. PC always brought the #drama.

Nicole Richie (during the early seasons) of The Simple Life

Be clear — I am referring to Season 1 Nicole exclusively, back when she looked like some kind of warped Commedia dell'Arte stock character, feather earrings and all. Along with Paris, she was wildly inappropriate and irreverent, but I shudder to imagine the show without Nicole, who actually came across as quite endearing.

Charlie Smith from The Hills

Charlie is an outlier in this list as he did not serve as a title character. He was merely credited as Spencer's surfing buddy, but he deserved much, much more airtime. I mean just consider his first scene, in which he muses to Spencer, "You don't slip. You Trip. You flip. Just like pancakes." Poetic.
