Stephenie Meyer Said She's Working On Two More "Twilight" Books, So We Really Are Living In 2008

    HOLY. CRAP.

As a dedicated Twihard myself, I'll be the first to admit that we can be...a lot.

But we know a good thing when we see it — or, in this case, read it. Because Midnight Sun has already sold a whopping 1 million copies, and it's only been out for two weeks.

In addition to being...a lot, we Twihards are also greedy AF. We're basically just insatiable vampires who feed on Twilight books instead of blood. So the second that Midnight Sun was released, we all wanted to know: When are we getting more???

I’m just so sad and empty now I need more twilight Injected into my veins

Well, I have some good news and bad news. The bad news? Don't expect any more books from Edward's perspective.

In an interview with the New York Times, Stephenie said, "This is it for Edward. Writing from his point of view makes me extra anxious. And the experience of writing this book was not a super-pleasant one."

"So no, I wouldn’t want to do that — especially given that New Moon would just be a nightmare of depression and emptiness," she continued. "I think this gives you enough of a sense of what it’s like to be Edward that you could go and look at the other books and you would know what’s going on in his head."

Womp, womp, womp. But I did promise you good (extreme-fantastic-exciting-everything-I ever-wanted) news: Two more books are in the works!!!!!

At Books-a-Million's virtual live event earlier this week, Stephenie revealed, "There are two more books I think in the world that I want to write. I have got them outlined and a chapter written, I think, of the first one, so I know it's there."

However, she added, "I am not ready to do that right now. I want to do something brand-new. For me, a lot of the joy of writing comes from creating, and I really want to do a new world and new rules and new mythology. Mythology is kind of my thing."

Listen, we waited over 10 years for Midnight Sun. We may be greedy, but we're patient! Plus, Stephenie's non-Twilight books, The Host and The Chemist, were both really good too, so this sounds like a win-win to me.

My question is, if they aren't from Edward's perspective...what are the stories? Personally, I would love a prequel focused even more on the Cullens pre-Bella. Ooh, or maybe a New Moon–esque book focused solely on the wolf pack? Even something about how the Volturi were established and more about their reign could be interesting. So many options!

What would you wanna read in two new Twilight books?? Tell me in the comments!
