Body swapping, body doubles, and twins!
THIS. MOVIE. IS. SO. GOOD. A young Katherine Heigl, in a scrunchie and the most frosted lip gloss I've ever seen, swaps bodies with her tomboy sister. Do they both find young love? Yes. Do they learn more about each other and strengthen their bond as sisters? Also yes.
Watching Rob Schneider pretend to be a high school girl in love with Matt Lawrence is one of the funniest things I've seen to this day. Plus, 2000s queens Ashlee Simpson and Michelle Branch both make cameos.
This movie has everything, and I do mean everything, that was glorious about the '00s. Moody teen with Avril Lavigne highlights? Check. Chad Michael Murray? Check. Punk rock band sequence? Check, check, check.
This movie is what dreams are made of. It has a killer soundtrack, a fashion montage, and a conniving boy gets his comeuppance in the most Disney way possible. What more do you need really?
So, this one is basically The Lizzie McGuire Movie, but replace 8th graders with college grads, Rome with Monte Carlo, and Hilary Duff with Selena Gomez.
Literally, not gonna even waste my time explaining how great this movie is. Either you already know and have memorized the handshake/soundtrack/all the dialogue or you're dead to me.
Every Mary-Kate and Ashley movie is gold, but surprisingly, this is one of the few were they actually switch places. It has rags to riches vibes, along with a little Parent Trap matchmaking. Need I say more?
Personally, I don't think I could swap bodies with someone and then start dating them, but to each their own.
The concept of a married guy and a playboy swapping lives is pretty interesting, but i would've loved this movie a whole lot more if Jason Bateman had been cast as the playboy.
Okay, I'm going to be honest. I've never actually seen this one. But, if The Goonies taught me anything it's that I love a young Corey Feldman. Plus, who doesn't love a classic adult/kid body swap story?
If you think you're too good for this movie, you're dead wrong. It's funny, cheesy, and dumb in all the best ways. Plus, IRL couple Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar swap souls! Sign 👏 me 👏 up 👏.
So, of course, there's the popular 2009 version with Zac Efron. But, personally, I like the 2000 version better. For one thing, you've got Tia and Tamera Mowry, and their younger brother Taj. Then, Tamera plays a grandma who gets a second chance at youth, along with her husband Gene, who was (and is still) pretty attractive.
So, looking back on it now, this movie was ~slightly~ problematic. But, it celebrates the fun of being a kid and has Tom Hanks, so I'm obligated to love it.
Thirty, flirty, and thriving perfectly describes how many times I've seen this movie, how I feel when watching it, and how my life is afterwards.
