Janelle Monáe Has Come Out As Gender Nonbinary

On Friday, the Sex, Explained narrator seemingly came out as gender nonbinary.

Back in 2018, Janelle called herself "a queer black woman." As for her sexuality, she revealed, "I read about pansexuality and was like, ‘Oh, these are things that I identify with too.’"
Throughout the day, the hashtag #IAmNonBinary trended on Twitter, with many users sharing photos, personal stories, and helpful tools to educate others.

The 34-year-old Dirty Computer singer has yet to share more, including her pronouns, but fans have showered her with nothing but love and support since her announcement, saying that she's a "true inspiration," and thanking her for "always living her truth."
To quote the star herself, we stan a "free-ass motherfucker" who's "open to learning more about who I am.”
