"Clueless" Is Being Rebooted Into A Dark, Teen Mystery Series — With A Focus On Dionne — And Fans Have A Lot Of Feelings

    "Leave Clueless alone!"

Let's get one thing straight: Clueless is one of the greatest movies ever made.

I mean, it's got stellar fashion, weird '90s lingo, and vampire Paul Rudd. What more do you need???

And it looks like this beloved classic is the next thing to get the reboot treatment. According to Deadline, an hour-long teen mystery-drama is in the works at CBS TV Studios.

Described as "Mean Girls meets Riverdale meets a Lizzo music video," the series will take place in 2020 Los Angeles and follow Dionne, who — after her BFF Cher disappears — must adjust to the pressure of being the new most popular girl in school, while also trying to solve the mystery of what happened to her best friend.

    *Crickets chirping*

Now, I'm not trying to be a Negative Nancy, but people are...not excited about the news.

Bout to email Hollywood and ask them very nicely to please put the #Clueless reboot into the rubbish bin & never take it out

You can just make a new show about teens, you don't have to reboot Clueless

“A dark, edgy reboot for CLUELESS is in the works!”

Please let my feelings about the #Clueless reboot be known

Any Clueless that is not set in the 90s is not canon and I shan’t be recognizing it

a reboot of Clueless?! ummm #nope

PLEASE I BEG PLEASE DO NOT make a clueless reboot just dont

Also, let it be known that Clueless is an adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma, which — among other things — is basically about a girl who loves matchmaking.

*puts on nerd hat* Clueless was a retelling of Emma this is NOT AT ALL case closed. Call it a Veronica Mars reboot instead. Good day to you sirs.

But, if Cher isn't even in it, it's not Emma, and therefore, not Clueless.

No one, literally not a single soul: CBS: guys what if we remade Clueless but it had nothing to do with it’s source material, Emma.

I don't know, maybe I'm being way harsh, Tai. What do you think? Would you watch a gritty Clueless drama or are you like, "As if?" Tell us in the comments!
