Their relationship evolved so naturally from friends to something more, and Ben was so selfless when Leslie was running her city council campaign. He put her career first because he knew that it was the most important thing to her. Their relationship was hard work like a relationship in real life is. Plus, they were never toxic or bitter towards each other during their breakup like other TV couples sometimes are (looking at you, Ross and Rachel). I shipped them from episode one! I screamed when they finally got together, cried when they broke up, happy-danced when they got back together, and applauded when they ended up together. They were such a great functioning, yet dysfunctional, couple. Even after things got weird, they managed to keep a healthy friendship going, laughed about it, let go of jealousy, and made their friendship work. It took SIX YEARS for the writers to get them together, but it happened so beautifully when Stiles got erased from existence and Lydia realized that there was someone missing from her life whom she deeply loved.
